White Suffolks - simply Better by Design
Our Beginings
POMANDA White Suffolks have a lengthy history; Tim and Nancy Withers, Simon’s parents, purchased ewes from Gum Hill Suffolks to provide the foundations of the flock.
The stud transitioned to White Suffolks and registered in 1986 as a result of demand from the wool industry to eliminate black fibre contaminations in the middle of the 1980s. Initial sires were bought from Allendale, and during the 1990s and into the 2000s, a lengthy line of Richmond Park sires had an impact on the stud.
Simon and Rachael have continued the stud since taking over the family farm, bringing it into the twenty-first century with Lamb Plan performance records and a heavy emphasis on structural accuracy.
Mertex 160460, 190634, and Induro 180073 have produced reliable lines of offspring in more recent years. With Rangeview 200068 being purchased in 2022.
Breed Characteristics
The White Suffolks breed maintain a good temperament and longevity. They provide a superior meat-eating quality as well as white downs type wool that eliminates contamination. High-performing, low-maintenance rams are perfectly suited to the commercial producer looking for well-rounded prime lambs.
